There is a big difference between a showroom and a home. A showroom is pristine, a home is a lived-in patchwork of stories, memories, and the objects we choose to surround ourselves with.
Lately, I’ve been looking around my own spaces. Since founding London Velvet, our pieces have naturally woven themselves into the corners of my house, not as a display, but alongside the personal treasures that make this space ours.
Here is a quick look at a few favorite corners that bring me joy:

Our bedroom centerpiece is my mother-in-law’s old four-poster bed, refreshed with new pelmets, valances, and a crisp white wash. We turned our Tuft Luck wall hanging into a headboard, flanked by lamps I made from my husband’s old gaucho cowboy boots and safari Akubra hats. Tucked on the bedsides are a notepad for midnight thoughts and our London Velvet Tidy Trays for end-of-the-day jewelry.

The kitchen is where we spend all our time. We made it ours with limewashed walls and window seats upholstered recycling our former kitchen blinds made out of railroaded Olive sacking.
My absolute favorite artwork here is by Australian artist Montana Beavis which I gave to my husband, titled ‘When the going gets tough, ride on son.’ Beneath it, the boys’ Baby Bags sit ready to grab in a rush, looking chic enough that they never feel like clutter. Elevating the chaos corner, our refillable leather journal used with a diary insert catching all our daily family chaos.
My Golden Rule: If there is one design rule I live by, it’s that every single door in our house deserves one of our Tassels on the handle. It is such a simple, effortless way to add a bit of movement, life, and personality to a room in a subtly elevated way.
My favourite right now is the Flamenco tassle.
